Past two weeks have been a lot of florals and I wanted to make a guy card for a change. I still struggle with choosing a color palette for a guy-card. This time I wanted to try a combination of gray and blue. So I chose Smoke color from SSS as the cardbase. First, I stamped a diagonal stripe pattern on it and embossed with clear embossing powder. I made sure to keep it a little uneven to give it a rough feel. This still seemed plain and so I randomly added a strip of silver foil tape along a few of the lines.
I die cut a tag from Audrey Blue cardstock using the large tags die set from SSS. I fuzzy cut the die to make it a window. Then I fuzzy cut another piece of white cardstock to match the outline of the tag and stamped the hello sentiment repeatedly to fill it. For the main sentiment, I die cut another larger Hello from the same Audrey Blue cardstock.
To finish off, I wrapped some twine around a button and adhered it on to the tag. I mounted a piece of craft foam behind the tag and adhered it to the cardbase. On hind sight, I would have preferred lesser contrast between the cardbase and the white panel... A lesson for next time!
